Basalt Grinding and Processing

Basalt powder can be used as a reinforcing material for various products, or as a mixing material for cement, which can optimize the mix and composition of the mixing material and clinker and improve the performance of cement. In addition, basalt powder can be used to manufacture wear-resistant materials, chemical raw materials, etc., basalt powder can also be used in brake pads, polishing wheels, grinding wheels, friction pads, abrasion-resistant pipes, abrasion-resistant bearings, and other fields.

Processing scheme

  • First, the large pieces of basalt are crushed through equipment such as jaw crushers and cone crushers to facilitate subsequent grinding and processing. The selection of the crusher should be based on the characteristics of the raw materials and the required crushing particle size.
  • These crushed basalt materials are ground through vertical mills or Raymond mills. The mill uses rotating grinding discs and grinding rollers to squeeze, grind, and shear the material under the action of centrifugal force and grinding roller pressure to achieve the required powder fineness.
  • Ground basalt powder needs to be classified. Hot air is sprayed upward at high speed from the air ring around the grinding disc. On the one hand, the coarse powder is blown back to the grinding disc for further grinding. On the other hand, the fine powder is brought into the classifier for classification to meet product requirements of different fineness.
  • Basalt powder that meets the fineness enters the dust collector with the airflow for separation and collection. The collected finished product powder passes through the discharge port and is sent to the finished product silo by the conveying device. After screening and dust removal, the powder can be packaged.
